PROFILE OF GRADUATE

Graduate of first-cycle studies:

  • interdisciplinary knowledge within the scope of social sciences, health sciences and medical sciences;
  • comprehension of elementary public health issues, health care systems and health policy of Poland, EU member states and of the world;
  • acquired competencies to occupying executory functions in state-run and private medical entities, state administration bodies, e.g. in the Ministry of Health, self-government administration authorities, e.g. the Marshal Office, City Hall, scientific and research entities, e.g. in the National Public Health Institute – National Institute of Hygiene, pharmaceutical companies;
  • may also take up employment in global agencies: of the World Health Organisation – WHO as well as European ones, such as the European Commission, the European Public Health Association, European Health Parliament.

Graduate of second-cycle studies:

  • has advanced interdisciplinary know-how within the scope of social sciences, health sciences and medical sciences,;
  • is capable of defining problems of public health, health care system and health prevention in Poland, of Member States of the European Union and of the world;
  • participates in decision-making processes with respect to health protection tasks and health prevention of diverse institutions;
  • may take up work in government administration units, such as the Ministry of Health, self-government administration, e.g. the Marshal Office, City Hall, public administration entities of all levels oriented at health issues and widely understood public health, sanitary supervision entities, State Sanitary Inspection, environment protection and control, and acting within the Integrated medical Rescuing System. health and social insurance institutions, scientific and research entities, e.g. in the National Public Health Institute – National Institute of Hygiene or pharmaceutical companies;
  • acquired competencies to occupy managerial posts or to act as expert, advisor or consultant in state and private medical entities and in entities operating in health protection and oriented at public health issues: medico-social services, health promotion, pro-health education;
  • may also take up employment in global agencies: of the World Health Organisation – WHO as well as European ones, such as the European Commission, the European Public Health Association, European Health Parliament.
